There’s no denying that you are getting near motorcycle quality when you buy a Yamaha snowmobile, and especially the Apex, Vector or Venture GT. Fit and finish is so nice on these models from the high-gloss panels and tank cover to the chrome DZUS quarter-turn fasteners that give the panels a clean, finished look. There are no gaps between panels or the headlight and hood or the seat and fuel tank and everything fits together really nice. We would like to see the high-gloss paint on the Phazer and Nytro models, too, because that paint just adds to the overall quality look.

What could be a contender with some improvement are the Ski-Doo REV models. While a lot of thought went into the design of the XP/XR chassis and body panels, there needs to be a little more. The body panels simply do not fit quite right; there are gaps between panels and the tabs can come out during bumpy rides. The molding over the fuel tank on the XR chassis is too wide for aggressive riding and the sharp edges dug into my knees and inner thighs.
If you want near motorcycle quality fit and finish, the Yamaha Apex, Vector or Venture GT wins hands down.
